  • In cases of death outside India, since planetary positions are for centre of the earth,  just converting local standard time of death to IST is enough.

Shradh Tithi Rules:  

• Shradh is to be done in the solar month the person died on the Tithi day during aparanha kaal 1:15 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. 
• A solar month is about 30 days . Solar months start around 14th to 17th of each English calendar. 
• Tithi is angle Moon minus Sun divided by 12 degrees.  Tithi ends when this angle is in exact multiples of 12.
• A lunar month is 28 days having 2 Paksh. 
  • Sukhla Paksh is the bright half of the lunar month from New Moon or Amavasya to Pournima or Full Moon.
  • Krishna Paksham is Dark half of the lunar month.
• Sometimes same Tithi may appear twice in a solar month. Then the SECOND day is to be observed as Shradh day. Thus in all solar months, first 2 to 4 days are shunya tithis and no shradh is done on these days.
• In Panchang, the Indian Day is from Sunrise to next day Sunrise. A Tithi  may start any time and extend 22 to 25 hours. So in most cases a Tithi would be partly falling on two such Indian Days.
• The Pinda Pradhan is done during Aparanha Kaal. Tithi ending moments are given in all Panchangs. In WORLD PANCHANG the ending moment in hour:minute format is given everyday in Indian Standard Time for 151 years. Hence, if the tithi ends before Aparanha Kaal, the Shradh function is to be performed on the previous day.
• Question of Adhik lunar month does not arise as shradh is related to solar month. There is nothing called "adhik solar month" !
