Birthday Rules:

  • Birthday is celebrated with an Ayushya Havan in the solar month you were born on the day Moon is back in your janma nakshatra.
  • A solar month is about 30 days and lunar month is 27 days.
  • Solar months start around 14th to 17th of each English calendar.
  • Sometimes same nakshatra may appear twice in a solar month. Then the first day is to be observed as birthday.
  • In Indian Panchang the Indian Day is from Sunrise to next day Sunrise. A nakshatra may start any time and extend 22 to 25 hours. So in most cases a nakshatra would be partly falling on two such Indian Days.
  • The havan is done during Sanghava Kaal at about 9:00 a.m. Nakshatra ending moments are given in all Panchangs. In WORLD PANCHANG the ending moment in hour:minute format is given everyday in Indian Standard Time for 151 years. Hence, if your nakshatra ends before Sanghavan Kaal, the birthday function is to be performed on the previous day.
  • Question of Adhik lunar month does not arise as birthday is related to solar month. There is nothing called "adhik solar month" !

Note:

The Email reminder is sent to your Email-id, registered as current,  in WORLD PANCHANG, at the time of sending the Email.
